Cuisine: Indian Street Food

Nutritional value: All age group's favorite street food chat recipe, with healthsome ingredients, made in D'foodies kitchen. Main ingredient the Black chickpeas/ Kala Chana, an incredible source of Vit- B6, C, Minerals, Iron, Copper and lot more, when combined with Indian chutneys, spices and veggies, will make burst of flavors in one bite.

Now let me tell you it's Nutritional content-

Calories- 125 kCal.             Carbs- 25 g

Protein-  9 g                          Fat-  1 g

Fibre- 9 g                             Sodium- 229 mg

Calcium- 3 mg                   Iron- 12 mg

 

INGREDIENTS

Black chickpeas/ Kala Chana- 1 cup (soaked overnight)

Salt- 1 tsp

Turmeric- 1/4 tsp

Water- 3 cups


Oil- 1 tsp

Ghee- 1 tsp

garlic, ginger, chilli paste- 2 tbsp

Turmeric- 1/4 tsp

Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp

Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp

Coriander powder- 1/4 tsp

Chana masala- 1/2 tsp

Chat masala- 1/2 tsp

Salt- 1/2 tsp


Green Chutney- 2 tbsp

Dates Chutney- 2 tbsp

Curd- 2 tbsp


Onion-1/2 (finely chopped)

Tomato- 1/2 (finely chopped)

Potato- 1/2 (boiled & mashed)

Coriander- 2 tbsp (finely chopped)

Sev- as required

Pomegranate seeds- as required


STEP BY STEP RECIPE

1. In a wide strainer, drain the overnight soaked chana and wash it with clean water..

2. Add the Chana (Black Chickpeas) in a pressure pan, add salt, turmeric and mix.

3. Now add water and close the lid. Cook for 6 whistles and then let cool.

4. In a kadai, heat oil and ghee..

5. Add garlic, ginger and chilli paste and saute until aromatic.

6. Now add the spices (Turmeric, Red chilli poder, Cumin powder, Coriander powder, Chana masala, Chat masala, and Salt)

7. Now add boiled Black Chickpeas/ Chana & mix well.

8. In a large bowl, take this spiced Chana mixture.

9. Add Green and Dates chutney along Curd and mix nicely.

10. Now add the chopped Onion, Tomato, Potato and Coriander.

11. Serve it in a bowl by adding Sev and Pomegranate seeds on the top.

12. Enjoy this chatakedar Black CHickpeas/ Kala Chana Chat.
