Full Recipe: GRAVY MANCHURIAN
Cook Time: 30 mins
Servings: 4 Servings (20-24 balls)
Cuisine: Chinese
Nutritional value: Manchurian with gravy is a most popular and must ordered dish in restaurants. But we all know how unhealthy it could be to go and have foods at the restaurants in the present. But here m sharing this delicious recipe with a healthier version.
1. No deep frying instead bake.
2. Includes many fresh veggies and less of oil.
3. No use of all purpose flour (maida) instead use rice flour as binder.
Now let me tell you it's Nutritional content-
Calories- 40kCal. Carbs- 5g
Protein- 1g. Fat- 1g
Fibre- 2g. Sodium- 300mg
Potassium- 70mg. Vit A- 3mg
Calcium- 10mg. Iron- 1mg
INGREDIENTS
For Manchurian Balls:
Carrot- 3 (grated)
Cabbage- 3 cups (shredded)
Onion- 2 (finely chopped)
Ginger garlic chilli paste- 1 1/2 tsp
Chilli sauce- 3 tsp
Salt- 1 1/2 tsp
Rice flour- 10- 12 tbsp
Oil- for brushing
For Gravy:
Oil- 1 tbsp
Ginger- 3 inch (finely chopped)
Garlic- 10 cloves (finely chopped)
Chilli- 3 (slits)
Onion- 2 (finely chopped)
Capsicum- 2 (sliced)
Vinegar- 6 tbsp
Soy sauce- 6 tbsp
Chilli sauce- 3 tsp
Tomato sauce- 5 tbsp
Pepper powder- 2 tsp
Salt- 1 tsp
Water- 4 cups
For Slurry:
Cornstarch- 6 tsp
Water- 3/4 cup
STEP BY STEP RECIPE
Manchurian Balls:
1. Take all the veggies in a big mixing bowl.
2. Add Ginger garlic chilli paste.
3. Add chilli sauce and salt to bowl.
4. Now add rice flour, mix well and prepare a dough.
5. Make balls of medium size. Will make about 20 - 24 balls.
6. Now bake the Manchurian balls until golden brown in a pre heated at 200°C for 20 mins.
Gravy:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add Ginger, Garlic and Chilli, saute.
3. Now add Onion and Capsicum, saute on high flame. But do not overcook.
4. Now add Vinegar and Sauces, mix well.
5. Add Pepper powder and Salt.
6. Add Water, mix everything well.
7. Now in a bowl, take Cornstarch and Water. Make a Slurry and add to the gravy and adjust the consistency.
8. Now finally add Manchurian Balls to the gravy, let all mix well and Serve Hot.
