Today's Blog is a recipe for "MAC 'N'CHEESE". MAC 'N'CHEESE kids demanded dish but we often deny to offer this dish as we know that it's unhealthy, but here this deny will change to always allow as we have transformed this unhealthy dish to healthier version. So kids and everyone can enjoy their fav MAC 'N' CHEESE anytime without any health issues...So here's the "MAC 'N'CHEESE" recipe with detailed photo and written recipe..

Full Recipe: MAC 'N' CHEESE
Cook Time: 30 mins

Nutritional value: It's know that Mac 'n' Cheese are high in fat and calories. But here it has been tried to lower the fat and calorie content but with no compromise in taste. Here the Macaroni used is whole wheat semolina macaroni, that has high protein content, good fibre that helps in digestion and thus promotes wt. loss. And another healthy ingredient used is tofu, yes a proteinitious ingredient, with goodness of iron, calcium and maganese.
Now let me tell you it's Nutritional content-
Calories- 100 kCal. Carbs- 13 g
Protein- 7 g Fat- 4 g
Fibre- 5 g Sodium- 230 mg
INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat semolina Macaroni- 1 cup
Oil- 1 tsp
Butter- 1 tsp
Garlic- 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Maida- 1 tbsp
Milk- 1 cup
Black pepper- 1/2 tsp
Chilli flakes- 1 tsp
Oregano- 1 1/2 tsp
Salt- 1/2 tsp
Processed Cheese- 1/4 cup
Tofu- 1/2 cup
Coriander- 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
STEP BY STEP RECIPE
1. First of all, in a pot boil water, adding some oil and salt to it.
2. Add Whole wheat semolina Macaroni to boiling water. Cover the lid and boil until 90% cooked.
3. As cooks drain off the water and pour cold water. Again drain off water and keep this boiled macaroni aside.
4. Now in another deep pan, heat oil and butter. Add Garlic, saute.
5. Add maida/ refined flour, saute until aromatic and changes color to pinkish.
6. Now add half of the milk and mix properly using whisker.
7. Let mixture thicken, then add the other half of the milk and again whisk properly into smooth sauce.
8. Now add Black pepper, Chilli flakes, Oregano, Salt. Mix all spices.
9. Now take it off from flame and add grated cheese and tofu. Mix well.
10. Then add the boiled macaroni to the sauce and combine everything.
11. Now grease a bake dish with some butter.
12. Then add macaroni and cheese sauce mixture to greased bake dish.
13. Spread Cheese and Tofu on the top, evenly and Bake at 180°C for 15-20 mins, until golden and fluffy.
14. Take it out from Oven, using mitten and Serve this delicious MAC 'N' CHEESE baked dish.

ReplyDeleteNo problem.. You can make this in kadai with lid.. you can just put the bake dish or vessel you want to cook the macaroni, in the kadai on a stand with water at the bottom of kadai, cover with lid and cook for 15 mins..
