Full Recipe:            DOSA RECIPE WITH HOME MADE DOSA BATTER RECIPE

Cook Time: 15- 16 hrs

Servings: 4 (20 Dosas)

Cuisine: South-Indian

Nutritional value: All over India, Dosa is a popular recipe. Dosa's are tasty and healthy too. Dosa's are good source of protein and healthy carbs. These are easy to digest, low on fat, low calories and yummy.

Now let me tell you it's Nutritional content-

Calories- 133 kCal.             Carbs- 19 g

Protein-  3.9 g                     Fat-  3.7 g

Fibre- 1.9 g                          Sodium- 94 mg

Iron- 3 g.                             Potassium- 78 mg


INGREDIENTS

For Dosa Batter

Rice- 3 cups

Methi dana (fenugreek seeds)- 1/2 tsp

Urad dal- 1 cup

Chana dal- 4 tbsp


For Dosa

Dosa Batter- as required

Salt- to taste

Oil- for cooking


STEP BY STEP RECIPE

For Dosa Batter-

1. In a vessel take rice and wash it twice. Add Methi dana (fenugreek seeds) and soak for 5 hrs.

2. In another vessel, take Urad dal and Chana dal, wash it twice and soak for 3 hrs.

3. Now after 3 hrs drain the dal and let rest for 10 mins. So all water drains out well.

4. Then grind the dal into smooth batter until fluffy (Can also add little if dal is too dry).

5. Now drain rice after soaking of 5 hrs, let rest for 10 mins. So all water drains out properly.

6. Then grind rice into smooth batter. Now mix both the batter and let ferment for 6-8 hrs.

7. The Dosa Batter is ready.


For Dosa-

1. Take some batter in a large bowl.

2. Add salt and mix properly.

3. Now on a hot Non-stick or Iron tawa, grease oil and sprinkle some water and wipe it off using tissue.

4. Pour a laddle full of Dosa Batter and spread it from in to out evenly as thin as possible to achieve crispy dosa.

5. As color changes and starts cooking, add some oil on other side and middle of dosa and spread oil evenly with brush.

6. Cook the Dosa until leaves the sides and gets goldenish.

7. Start taking off dosa from sides and turn to other side to cook both the sides evenly.

8. As Cook's take it off and serve hot with Sambhar and Chutney.
