Today's Blog is a recipe for "VEG UTTAPAM". Uttapam in today's time is not just southerns fav but as it is nutritious and tasty so it's being everyone's fav breakfast meal...So here's the "VEG UTTAPAM" recipe with detailed photo and written recipe..

Full Recipe:
Cook Time: 15 mins
Servings: 4 Servings (20 Uttapam)
Cuisine: South Indian
Nutritional value: Uttapam a healthy day start or day end, which is low in fat but high in flavors. It is nutritious good combination of dosa batter and nutrient rich low cal vegetables.
Now let me tell you it's Nutritional content-
Calories- 200 kCal. Carbs- 30 g
Protein- 4 g Fat- 3 g
Fibre- 2 g
INGREDIENTS
Idli Dosa Batter- 2 cups
Poha- 1/2 cup
Salt- 1 tsp
Oil- for roasting
For Topping:
Onion- 1/2 (finely chopped)
Carrot- 1/2 (grated)
Capsicum- 1/4 (finely chopped)
Tomato- 1/2 (finely chopped)
Coriander- 1 tbsp
For Masala:
Chilli Powder- 1 tbsp
turmeric- 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Fennel powder- 1/4 tsp
Garam masala- 1/4 tsp
Black salt- 1/2 tsp
STEP BY STEP RECIPE
For Batter:
1. In a large bowl, take Idli batter.
2. Now rinse poha properly with clean water & blend into smooth paste.
3. Add this paste to the batter.
4. Add salt & mix properly. Keep batter aside & let rest.
For Topping:
1. For topping wash the veggies (Onion, Carrot, Capsicum, Tomato, Coriander) thoroughly & chop finely.
For Masala:
1. In a small bowl. Mix all spices (Chilli powder, Turmeric, Cumin powder, Coriander powder, Fennel powder, Garam masala, Salt)
2. Keep the masala mix aside.
For Uttapam:
1. On a hot tawa spread some oil & then sprinkle some wtaer. Wipe it out.
2. Now pour the batter evenly on the tawa.
3. Spread oil on the sides of Uttapam.
4. Add the topping & press a little ad topping sets on the Uttapam.
5. Now sprinkle the masala evenly & let cook the Uttapam until leave the sides.
6. Turn the Uttapam to cook it both the sides.
7. Now serve the Uttapam hot with Coconut chutney.

DeleteMam firstly uttapam is not made crispy, but if you still want to make it crispier you can semolina/ suji/ rava to the batter. Hope this helps you.
